Top Seven Reasons to Cry:
1. Tears help us see: literally. The water keeps our eyeballs moisturized and safe from dehydration.
2. Tears kill bacteria: There’s some kind of natural chemical in our tears that kills about three month’s worth of flu and virus!
3. Tears remove toxins: They flood away the toxins that stress causes in our bodies. It’s like a free massage or therapy of some sorts.
4. It makes you happier: Tears actually physically carry away chemicals and molecules in your body that lower your mood and happiness level. How sick is that?
5. It reduces stress: If you don’t cry, you hold back the tears (like I do, a lot of people do,) then it builds up stress in your body and you can develop stress-related diseases.
6. They build relationships: If you see a person crying their eyes out, you might ask them if they are okay, and from there, who knows what kind of relationship can bud? People are sympathetic and loving towards those in distress, even if they are total strangers.
And last, but not least,
7. Tears release feelings: You don’t have to have a major reason to cry. Sometimes lots of little things pile up and overwhelm parts of your heart and brain. Crying is a way to release all of that junk from wrecking your nervous system. It’s good to let loose once in a while!
